Fathers Make A Difference
|
|
RASP consults with schools to increase and enhance the involvement of fathers in theirchildren’s education using a three phase process
Phase 1 – Calling All Men: Male relatives are encouraged to walk children in grades K-3 to school on the first day to improve student achievement, starting on day one. The concept of Calling All Men originated from the Black Star Project’s Million Father March, Mr. Phillip Jackson, Executive Director
Phase 2 – Father Forums: Workshops provide dads with practical strategies to improve academics (grades and test scores) and behavior (suspensions and dropouts).
Phase 3 – Father Filed Trips: Recreational and educational field trips are conducted once a month on Friday evenings for fathers and their children.
